WRITER / DIRECTOR

Irish film maker Edelle began her career on screen at an early age before quickly and strategically realizing she was best suited behind the camera. She studied communications in Dublin before moving to the UK to gain her degree in Television studies and from there she moved to New York City for 1 year. 10 years later, she was still in New York. In that time she built a career with networks such as Paramount, Discovery and Viacom directing and story producing some of USA's most successful docu-series and reality television.

In 2020, she decided to transfer that experience and apply it to writing and directing scripted television. Since then she has produced and directed multiple short films and music videos which have been selected for film festivals across the world and won Best Director at BIFF Sweden. Her debut short film Ossobuco credited her as 'one to watch' tackling challenging feminist themes.

In 2023 she returned home to Ireland and has been developing her craft by assisting and shadowing a number of directors including Declan Lowney, Alicia Mac Donald and Director Duo Matt Olpin and Tyler Gillett on their latest feature film for Universal Studios.

She was selected for X-pollinator 2024 and a script development programme with Screen Ireland in which she is developing her first series. She was also selected by the Dublin Film Writers Festival to pitch to the top 10 production companies in Ireland.

Edelle's writings largely focus on female stories with the intention of perseverance. Currently she is in development for her first feature documentary with Venom Films and in pre-production for her short documentary supported by Creative Europe.

With passports from both EU and US, she is suitable for co-production funding purposes.
